Our story

A small counter with a short shelf

Hilda Event LLC started with one problem: most personal care aisles are enormous and almost none of it is made for skin that reacts. We decided to make fewer things, properly.

We are a Pennsylvania limited liability company based at 630 Freedom Business Center Drive in King of Prussia. What began as a kitchen-table batch of oat milk soap for a family member with eczema turned into a full range of daily-use products — and then into a shop where you can smell, feel and test everything before you buy.

We formulate for the boring parts of life: hands washed twenty times a shift, winter shins, a scalp that reacts to almost everything. That means unglamorous ingredients used at honest concentrations, and packaging that is easy to refill rather than pretty for one photograph.

Our range stays deliberately small. When something new is added, something old usually leaves. We would rather be the shop you return to for four products than the shop you scroll past with four hundred.

What we stand behind

Four standards we do not bend

Short lists, named clearly

Every ingredient is printed in plain language on the label and on this website. If we cannot explain why something is in a formula, it does not go in.

Small batches, slow curing

Soaps cure for four weeks. Butters are whipped in kilo batches, not tonnes. Nothing sits in a warehouse for a year before it reaches you.

Fragrance is optional

Every category has an unscented version, because a product that irritates your skin is not a product worth selling.

Refills over repurchase

Bring your amber bottles and tins back to the shop. We will clean, refill and take a little off the price.

Questions before you buy?

Tell us about your skin and we will point you at the right product — or tell you that you do not need one.
